Creative’s new webcam

Creative Technology Ltd. announced their new camera, the PC-CAM 880 on June 16. This camera combines the features of high-end digital still cameras with the versatility of a PC camera, priced under $150USD. The camera is a 3 megapixels camera (2048×1536) and has removable memory and TV output. When attached to the PC, it can also serve as a web camera, for video instant messaging and video email. Right out of the box it is equipped with 16MB of built in memory.

A memory expansion slot is provided for SD/MMC memory allowing the PC-CAM 880 users to take an unlimited number of images by adding additional memory cards. The swivel base allows for hands free video conferencing over the Internet. Photo and video editing is a snap with the included ArcSoft® PhotoImpression®, ArcSoft VideoImpression® and ArcSoft Multimedia Email software.
