On vacation, In South America

Posted by Tony S.  Published in Just Blogging

Hello all! I am blogging on location in Cochabomba, Bolivia. My family and I arrived here Saturday morning after a long three legged trip. It was my son’s first time flying and he did pretty good for a 17 month old. He only screamed out, at the top of his lungs, for five minutes straight, [...]

The Apple Store fanatic

Posted by Tony S.  Published in News

Regrettably, I have never been to an Apple Store, only the Apple section of different computer stores. After reading this article in Wired, I think I would like to see one for myself. The amount of planning and detail put into a store is totally amazing. Apple goes through great lengths to make sure that [...]

Posted by Tony S.  Published in Medicine/Genetics

Scientist have successfully grown human corneas in the eyes of partially blind animals. This breakthrough may pave the way to a viable source of replacement corneas for millions of people.

Humans are currently the only source of corneas for transplantation, and the supply of donor tissue is limited.
In addition, the artificial corneas may actually work better [...]

Liebermann Inc. Is still around?

Posted by Tony S.  Published in Just Blogging

I just came across an annoying popup that caught my attention. The heading says, “Win This System”. Then there is a picture of a pretty sweet looking computer setup. The system is labeled as a MACH 3.8 Personal SuperComputer. Now two things caught my attention about this ad; first is the monitor, it is undeniably [...]

Letter of the Day, P (LOTD, from now on!)

Posted by Tony S.  Published in Link Love

The LOTD is P and unfortunately, I won’t be playing this one. Finding the right words for the links is a time consuming exercise. Yes, it’s true, I do have to think a bit when I play the letter game. I’m currently on a work related vacation retreat at the Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island. For [...]

The return of Battlestar Galactica

Posted by Tony S.  Published in Movies/TV

I can barely remember the series. I had to be around 11 or 12 when the show first came on and from what I remember of it, I liked. The second time around things are a bit different.

In the new version, airing Monday and Tuesday on the Sci Fi Channel (9 p.m. EST), Edward James [...]
