LOTD is S

Wednesday, October 13th, 2004

Today’s letter is S and I am unfortunately short of time to give this execise the attention that I would normally give it. No big words today. I basically looked for titles that have an ‘S’ word in it. I then looked for a s word that could be used as a verb for pointing to the title. Next time will give it a more involved effort.

LOTD - Q

Tuesday, October 12th, 2004

This may be a bit queer, but I nominated my quintessence to fill in for the queen of LOTD, today. It has been 5 days since our last quarry, so I think we are nigh time. What are my qualifications, you ask? Well, the queen would want it so. So step easily, yet quickly, as you enter this quagmire in this quaint quarantined quantum quadrant of the blogosphere. I will act as a qualified quidam that will quench the thirst of the qualmish and quandaried masses. Wow, that made me queasy! Let’s begin! Kate, I hope you feel better soonquaff some martinis or something

Q is for questionable
Q is for Quarters - Captian’s Quarters that is.
Q is for qualmish - I just delete it, too!
Q is for quiz, query, question
Q is for quixotic - A stretch, heh? Hey, I’ll push it as far as I can!

Q is for quest
Q is for milquetoast, quitter - move them all aside. (I really like the word milquetoast)
Q is for quiescent
Q is for quartet, quintet, sextet - how many make a fellowship?
Q is for quashed - All beware

Q is for quasirobotic
Q is for quisling
Q is for Quid Pro Quo - Give a little, get a little.
Q is for quarrel quitted, fears quieted - Congrats! I am using a Bayesian filter and similiarly, I haven’t had any spam email in a while.
Q is for quartern

Q is for quirky behavior
Q is for querulous
Q is for Quadrilogy - Alien Quadrilogy box set the other day,

If you would like to play, and I hope you do, just rustle up some Q words and send a link here and ENJOY!!!!

A few useful things on the web.

It has been a while since I have went on a linkfest excursion, so I had to do it today. Once again, by going through my refferer logs I was able to get a list of sites that I could/should recognize, and here they are.

Link Love in the new year

Sunday, February 1st, 2004

This year has been quite busy for me so far. I have been trying to find time to do some quality blogging but other neccessities keep getting in the way. Hopefully this month I will be able to settle back to a normal routine. I have noticed that I haven’t pass out any link love this year so I would like to take some time to do so now. Here we go:

Blogging is a job — It definiately feels that way sometimes.

6 Million Lost Souls — I have the same aura, and I must say, “It feels good!”

SuperBowl Ads — I didn’t get to see any of the ads this year but I did se Janet Jackson’s boob. She snuck it pass the sensors/censors!!! Do you think she’ll make it back to another superbowl halftime show?

Caption Contest — I’m a fan of caption contest, so I will be looking forward to more from Jivha.

Super Bowl Entertainment — Another angle on the SuperBowl Halftime show. The comments happened to see the Janet’s tit just like me. ;-)
The places I have been state version — I have seen this floating around the web but in the WORLD version. Give it a try, if you have been outside of your state on a few occasions.

Dog Snot Diaries - I’ve changed format and relocated. — Dog Snot Diaries has made a move. If you are interested in seeing the new product, you will have to drop him a line.

I managed to snag a couple pics from a reliable source on Janet.

Letter of the Day, P (LOTD, from now on!)

Friday, December 5th, 2003

The LOTD is P and unfortunately, I won’t be playing this one. Finding the right words for the links is a time consuming exercise. Yes, it’s true, I do have to think a bit when I play the letter game. I’m currently on a work related vacation retreat at the Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island. For those of you that know of this place, you will be pleased to know that I am not suffering much.

Please see Kate’s site for the other entrants for the letter P. Also, If you are into Traffic Jams, then you might want to create a link to this story as well.

The search for technology, in the blogosphere

Saturday, November 29th, 2003

* Ozguru - Points out a MT Vulnerability. I came across this same issue while I was taking a walk through the blogosphere. I guess I will have to take some precautions soon.

* McGehee - SpamBots watchout, McGehee gives us a heads up as to who these spammers are.

* mtpolitics - Theories on global warming.

* Ron - Robots thinking for themselves. I can’t help but think of the Terminator is becoming a reality.

* Kate - Brings back the orgasmatron. This has been around for some time now, but it hasn’t prospered much. The inventor has had trouble getting orgasm challenged women to try the device. I wonder why.

* Chris - Do you know who George Gamow is? Well you can find out from Chris as well as a few other special people.

* Charles - If you are looking for an aggregator that will work seemlessly with Mozilla, Charles has got your ticket.

* 2lmc - Shows us that too much customization isn’t really a good thing.

* Beth - An impromptu review of the Canon Elph S200.

* Tony - Hard drives that offend. I’m starting to wonder if it is true that there are people that sit around and try to figure out ways to sue people or just stir up trouble for the fun of it.

* Michael - I’m not one for computer games, but this article about Broken Sword 3: The Sleeping Dragon is making me wish different.

* Rob - iTunes cracked? Will there ever be a technique that can’t be broken?

A walk around the blogosphere block

Thursday, November 27th, 2003

Today I am trying to follow links from one site, through many sites, leading back to my own. I have know no idea where I will be going or what I will see, but I expect it to be quite a journey. I’m going to start with one of the greatest linkers I know - Jay Solo. Perhaps this will get me off to a good start.

HERE WE GO…

Digital Cameras - Jay is looking for a new camera. Any one have a suggestion for him?

Jay links to Acidman

GO FIGURE - Acidman talks about a nearly impossible feat. Well maybe it’s just a rare feat.

Acidman links to Michael Moore

Thanksgiving Critters - An amusing picture for Thanksgiving.

Michael Moore links to Jane

Australian Defends Jackson - More news on the Michael Jackson circus.

Jane links to Marie

Top 10 Signs That..

.. You’ve Eaten Too Much. - Keep this in mind when you are eating today.

Marie links to Rori

Hot Ken - Rori has the hots for Ken. Yeah, its that Ken.

Rori links to Gothamist

The Simple Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie - More on Paris Hilton and uh, Nicole Richie

Gothamist links to Paul Frankenstein

SPAM Warning - This is something I will have to look into. Spammers are getting quite creative.

Paul Frankenstein links to smitten

not for the faint at heart - I thought that I watched my logs like a hawk. This is beyond my attention span. As I browse this site I find it to be very interesting, so I am adding it to my BlogRoll.

smitten links to Diablo

Well, Pussy Ranch is an interesting site but unfortunately, I’ll have to back up and try another route. If you have the time, check out the photos link here. This girl proves exhibitionism is alive and well.

Trying again…..
smitten links to Karen

TravelBlogue - The world through the eyes of some travelers.

Karen links to TroubledDiva

Miscellaneous bloggery. - I’m so far out of my known blogosphere. It is good to see that link love continues to make the blogosphere grow.

TroubledDiva links to Plasticbag.org

Off to Norfolk… - Pictures of scenery.

Plasticbag.org links to BlackBeltJones

Them++: Cybermen in the networked city - What is a Cyberman?

BlackBeltJones links to 2lmc

Outrage at Girl Scouts who like hunting for beaver - Believe it or not, it isn’t what you think it is.

2lmc links to antimega

pork martini - Never heard of it, but I like pork and I like martinis…

antimega links to Joi Ito

Creative Commons Moving Image Contest deadline approaching - Should I enter?

Joi Ito links to BoingBoing

Streaming obsession du jour: LynnFox’s vid for FC Kahuna’s "Hayling" - Check out the funky dreamscapes.

BoingBoing links to Geisha Asobi * Geisha Asobi doesn’t have any permalinks *

BREAST TEST REAL or FAKE ? - Being the technical person that I am, rest assured that I scored high on this so-called test. (Actually I was only half right…and they don’t tell you where you went wrong.)

Geisha Asobi links to J walk Blog * Geisha Asobi doesn’t have any permalinks *

Soup In The Movies - My wife loves soup. This should interest her greatly.

J walk Blog links to Venomous Kate * I know Kate LOVES…LOVES… Did you hear me? LOVES martinis, but does she love Pork?

Sidebar: You all don’t know how hard it was to join all of these links to get back to my neighborhood. You really need to give it a try. Once I saw Joi Ito, I knew I would be able to get back. I’m not there yet but I wanted to put this note here. Hopefully I can get back to my site in only a few more links.

If You Build It, They Will Come - I think she spelled “come” incorrectly.

Venomous Kate slinks to Tiger

My only comment is I cannot comment - Ahhh, No Comment

Tiger links to ME

OK now! That was a tough challenge. I’m happy to see that my theory is correct. Maybe we can figure out the degrees of separation on the web. It would have to be less than six. What do you all think? Venomous Kate, I would love to see you try this exercise. I’m sure it should be a bit easier for you. ;-)

UPDATE: Now that I am a bit rested, I went through this chain-link searching for typos, misspelled words, and wrong words. I think I have it all sorted out. I haven’t double checked the links though. I’m afraid that I can’t do this thoroughly, so please let me know if I messed one up.

Whatz that title?

The yesterday’s letter, H.

Sunday, November 16th, 2003

Hissed Venomous Kate. I love playing this game when I can find the time. I have an abundance of it this evening. Since I would like to be a part of the Haut monde, I will play this game the way I always do, with my own twist. Today the twist will be idioms that start with the letter H. BTW Kate, I like the way you stepped up your diction.

had better Kevin, this is going to be a tough one to judge.

Holier than thou — Mike, this is not a knock. I repeat, this is not a knock. This is for those that think they are…they should read this post.
hand out As in, a much deserved hand out of link love.

Just give me the title

Saturday, November 15th, 2003

I’m checking the 12 last updated site to find title that catch my eye. I believe that if you title your postings with the right amount of zing, someone is bound to stop and read. So, if you have the nack of creating eye catching titles then your blog should be doing fairly well. I struggle with my titles all the time, but I hope that they are approaching eye catching. My hit counter will be the judge.

What’s in a title?

Tuesday, November 4th, 2003

Today, I’m passing out some link-love, but I’m going by titles that catch my eye. Once again, I’m looking at my referral logs to find candidates to feature. True, I’m a little/lot obessed with the logs but it amuses me. That’s all that really matters, right? Let’s see if the title I like are what you all like. Here we go…

A thank you to my referrers

Monday, October 27th, 2003

I’m getting hooked on sifting through my log files, usually I check through SiteMeter’s logs but I can only get the last hundred visitors at any given time and like today, I was away from my computer for several hours and about 200 visitors had come through. Most of that is funneled over by search engines and I do welcome the traffic but I would love to see more bloggers enjoy my site. My brother tells me to be careful of what I ask for, well, perhaps he is right, he usually is. Anyway, I just want to take this time to give thanks to some of the sites that send a good deal of traffic this way. Here you are listed in no particular order. Okay, I lied, they’re listed in the order of importance most hits.

Thanks to all of you and to the others that were on my list, I will single you all out at a later date.
